Founder & Managing Director

Bold Gaindé Group was founded by Mamadou Lamine Diop. Before returning to Senegal to build the company, he spent his career inside the standards that now define how Bold Gaindé Group operates.

His professional career began at AS Solution, where he worked as a Security Advisor supporting international executive protection and corporate security operations. He then joined Google as a Risk Manager — a role that exposed him to the highest global standards of enterprise risk management, operational security, and cross-border operational planning.

His academic foundation was built in Canada, where he completed post-secondary studies at Collège Boréal and York University, specializing in mining engineering and information technology.

Mamadou returned to Senegal to found Bold Gaindé Group on a specific conviction: that West Africa’s emerging energy economy needed a local partner that could meet — and be audited against — the standards of the world’s most demanding operators.

He has built, led, and personally represented the company across every major mandate, from the ConocoPhillips exploration campaign in 2015 to today’s BP GTA operations. The company’s growth from a regional security firm to the technical partner of choice for international energy operators has been driven by one principle: deliver to international standards, every time, without exception.

Mamadou co-founded Bold Gaindé Group alongside his late father, Colonel Djiby Diop — a senior officer in the Senegalese Gendarmerie and a former UN diplomat who served with the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) in Tanzania.

Mamadou grew up inside that world. He traveled internationally with his father’s postings, lived in Tanzania during the ICTR years, and absorbed the operational rigor of a career in security and international affairs from the inside.

Colonel Diop passed away in 2019. His standards, and the institutional discipline of a lifetime in service, remain foundational to how the company operates today.

Most security firms operating in West Africa fall into one of two categories: global firms parachuting in without local depth, or local firms without international training. Bold Gaindé Group was founded to be the third option — a company with both.

That is the standard Colonel Diop held himself to throughout his career. It is the standard his son holds the company to today. And it is the standard our clients — BP, Woodside, ConocoPhillips, CNOOC, and the global risk firms that partner with us — continue to validate.
