The project.
The Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) project is a deepwater LNG development straddling the maritime border of Senegal and Mauritania, operated by BP. It is one of the largest gas developments in Africa and a landmark project for both countries’ entry into LNG production.
Operations at this scale, with this level of international scrutiny, demand security and mobility services delivered to supermajor HSE standards — executed by a local partner that understands the ground.
The mandate.
In December 2023, Bold Gaindé Group was awarded the contract to provide fully managed, integrated land transportation and fleet management services for BP’s GTA operations in Senegal. The scope includes:
- NCAP 5 fleet provision and OEM-standard maintenance
- Trained, vetted security drivers on continuous rotation
- 24/7 Journey Management Centre with IVMS monitoring
- Documented Journey Management Plans aligned to BP and IOGP standards
- SLA and KPI reporting with scheduled Performance Review Meetings
- Integration with BP’s broader HSE and security framework
— Note on confidentiality
Specific operational details — fleet size, driver numbers, routes, and deployment data — are held under client confidentiality. This is by design. Discretion is a service standard on a project of this profile, and it is how we operate across every mandate.
How we work on GTA.
Journey management on a project of this scale is not a dispatch function — it is an operational discipline. Every movement is planned, risk-assessed, monitored, and debriefed. Drivers are trained to BP’s standards and audited continuously. Vehicles are maintained to specification. Routes are reassessed against current intelligence.
The journey management function operates as an extension of BP’s security framework, not as an outside vendor. This is the operating model Bold Gaindé Group has refined across a decade of supporting majors in the MSGBC basin — from ConocoPhillips’ exploration campaign to the Woodside appraisal and development phase alongside Control Risks. GTA is where that model now runs at production scale.
Why the work was awarded to us.
A decade of continuous operations in the MSGBC basin. A proven ability to scale — including the 27 NCAP 5 SUVs and 90+ security drivers deployed at peak on Woodside. Direct experience operating to supermajor HSE standards through the Control Risks technical partnership. And a local operational depth — language, relationships, terrain knowledge, continuity of personnel — that no outside firm can replicate on the timelines a producing asset requires.
Result
Incident-free.
